Katherine Heigl’s character was knitting me a sweater on Grey’s. Katie actually knows how to knit. In our scenes, she damn near finished half.

(On the death scene for Grey’s…) There were rumors I wasn’t going to die. The whole cast was sitting around the table reading the script. I fell on the floor- I’m not kidding. I looked up at Katherine Heigl, and she was crying.

When asked if he ever thinks about getting married…
Jeffrey Dean Morgan: Yes, I do. But I don’t have any immediate plans because I know I wasn’t good at it the first time around.

I think, as I’ve gotten older I have realized what a huge privilege it is to even be in this business. I, more than ever, love what I do.

I’m just looking always for characters that change, because I want to get better, as an actor and as a person.

On leaving Grey’s Anatomy…
Jeffrey Dean Morgan: It was a grim day, let me tell you. A dark, grim day. I’m still not over it. It broke my heart to leave that show.

On his desire to return to work at Grey’s Anatomy…
Jeffrey Dean Morgan: Oh, I came up with lots of ideas for how I could come back. I mean, what if Denny had a twin brother named Lenny, who was a pediatric surgeon? They need a pediatric surgeon in that hospital.

On his campaign to keep Denny Duquette alive and well on Greys Anatomy…
Jeffrey Dean Morgan: At this point, every day I walk in with my picket sign that says, “Keep Denny alive.” Denny’s been through the ringer, man. Keep the guy alive, for God’s sake. Let him and Izzie ride off into the sunset together.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: It was a tough deal for while, working on both shows. I was being scheduled so much on Supernatural, and I was still working four or five days a week on Grey’s Anatomy, and so, the schedules would have to be flip-flopped, and we’d work weekends on Supernatural. Any time off I had was spent flying.

The only reason I went to college was to play basketball. I injured my knee and couldn’t play.

(about what he looks for in a mate): Well, someone to laugh with. And fidelity would be nice.

(about his co-star Katherine Heigl in Grey’s Anatomy): Katie’s one of my bestest friends — love her to death, but she’s got a great boyfriend. … And you shouldn’t date your co-stars. It’s never a good idea.

(about choosing between Grey’s Anatomy or Supernatural): I would bend over backward to be back on Grey’s. Any day, I’ll choose lying in bed with Katherine Heigl looking over me over getting thrown against walls by supernatural persons at 5 in the morning.

The last decade has been a little rough, so I’m hoping to start this one on the right foot
